A project entrusted to Home Design by long-standing customers
The owners, grandparents who are very attached to their country house, wanted to create a large common space dedicated to children and family life. The objective was not to multiply the functions, but to offer a unique, generous and pleasant room, capable of welcoming the whole family in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. This relationship is a long-term one: Home Design has accompanied this family for many years and has already completed several projects for their various properties, including this country house.
Interior design and attic layout
The intervention focused on the complete layout of the attic. All technical aspects have been taken care of in order to make the space comfortable and livable. The attic has been fully insulated, equipped with roof windows to provide maximum natural light, and equipped with an adapted heating system. The floor has been covered with parquet, contributing to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the room. The space was designed as a large shared bedroom, with no adjoining bathroom, with the shower rooms located on the lower levels of the house.
Volumes, light and existing structure
One of the strong elements of this layout lies in the enhancement of the volumes under the roof. The existing beams have been preserved and painted white, a choice that accentuates the luminosity and brings a feeling of freshness to the whole. The structure of the attic has been respected, especially around the stairwell, visible in the center of the volume. The false ceiling and the integrated lighting were designed to fit naturally into the existing architecture, without making the space difficult to read. Thanks to the roof openings and the careful lighting, the attic now enjoys a bright and pleasant atmosphere, conducive to moments shared with the family.
A space designed for family life
More than a simple layout, this attic has become a real place to live. Children find a common space where they can meet, discuss and play in a free and friendly atmosphere. The country house spirit is fully respected, with generous volumes and a simple approach, focused on use and the pleasure of being together.
