A living environment to be reopened
The customers, a family in their fifties who have lived in the house for a long time, wanted to strengthen the links between the various areas on the ground floor. The walls separating the living room, the kitchen and the entrance hall were opened in order to create direct communications between these spaces.
In the living room, the project revolved around the replacement of parquet flooring throughout the living space. This choice visually unifies the ground floor and accompanies the new openings created towards the kitchen and the entrance hall. The ground thus becomes a common thread, connecting the various zones without interruption. The living room maintains its central function while now being part of a more open spatial continuity.
A SieMatic PURE kitchen, designed in continuity
The kitchen, integrated into this new organization, was designed without tall furniture on one of the walls in order to preserve the feeling of space, as the room is not very large. Made of matt grey laminate, it combines simplicity and functionality. A complete wall is dedicated to storage and household appliances, including several cooking appliances and a refrigeration unit. This layout meets the habits of a family that likes to cook and entertain, while being a natural part of the visual continuity of the stay.
Discreet technical integrations
Certain technical constraints have been carefully integrated into the furniture. The radiator, located in the kitchen, has found its place behind an integrated cover, the only possible solution given the limited number of walls available. This integration makes it possible to maintain the legibility of the lines while meeting the functional needs of the space.
Conclusion
This renovation of the ground floor illustrates the Home Design approach: intervening with precision, respecting the existing situation and improving uses through clear and coherent choices. By reopening the volumes and working on the continuities, the project offers a brighter and more fluid living environment, faithful to the expectations of the occupants and to the architecture of the house.
